Open Door Advocates
The Open Door Advocates program gives all community members the opportunity to play an active role supporting the health of East Central Indiana — joining Open Door in our mission to improve quality of life. As an Open Door Advocate, you’ll be asked four times a year to share health-related information with friends, family, or community contacts. Your time commitment as an Open Door Advocate is small, but your impact on community health is big!
Here’s how it works:
Four times a year (once each quarter), you’ll receive an email from Open Door asking you to take one small action (aka, a “task”) to promote a health topic that addresses our community’s needs. The email will include 5-6 different tasks you can choose from, each designed to take about 5 minutes or less.
Tasks will often focus on sharing information about Open Door services or other community health resource. Choices might include sharing an Open Door’s social media posts to your own feed, posting a health fair flyer on a bulletin board at work, or asking a family member if they’ve received their flu shot yet.
Monthly, you’ll receive an email or text; this might be an upcoming event reminder, additional information about a task, or helpful resources regarding a current health topic.
When you sign up, we’ll mail you a packet of information and materials that will help you carry out your quarterly task.
At the end of each calendar year, we’ll ask if you’d like to continue on for the following year.
If you’re ready to join with fellow supporters of community health, submit the form below to become an Open Door Advocate. We look forward to having you on our Open Door Advocates team!
