Bringing personalized care to Blackford County

Jackie Anthony, FNP, confirmed her calling to a healthcare career while working at Open Door years ago. “I always had a feeling I wanted to work in healthcare. I got a job as a medical assistant in Open Door Family Planning, back when it was on Walnut Street in Muncie. During my work there, I just knew it was what I wanted to do,” she said.

Born and raised in Muncie, Jackie spent several years out of town to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University and her master’s degree at Spring Harbor University in Michigan. She returned to Open Door in Fall 2024 as a certified family nurse practitioner with experience in urgent and critical care. She now sees patients in Open Door’s new health center in Hartford City, providing women’s health and family practice in a location close to home for Blackford County residents.

“My family members and I all have used Open Door services. I think it’s an important part of the community, and I wanted to be a part of it,” said Jackie.

As a family nurse practitioner, she enjoys caring for patients of all ages, “from littles to bigs.” She works hard to get to know her patients, make them feel comfortable, and show them genuine care, love, and kindness rooted in her faith. “I want them to know that I truly care about them as a person. They are not just a number,” she said.

When Jackie heads home in the evenings, she is greeted by her mini golden retriever, a “princess” who runs the house. She also loves to read, travel, spend time with her nieces and nephews, and watch her favorite movie, Beauty and the Beast.

Appointments with Jackie at the Hartford City Family Practice are now available. Call (765) 286-7000 to schedule a visit with her.
