ODHS Announces Mobile Vehicle for On the Go Healthcare
January 9, 2013 – Muncie, IN – Open Door Health Services is thrilled to announce its recent acquisition of a vehicle equipped to offer health care services in a mobile fashion. Officially titled “Open Door On the Go”, the vehicle’s primary purpose is to provide convenient care for children that will come directly to schools in the East Central Indiana area.Open Door On the Go is first scheduled to travel to Longfellow, Sutton, and Wes-Del schools in partnership with the United Way of Delaware County’s Local Connection initiative. The bus will provide services such as school and sports physicals, immunizations, flu shots, general check-ups and exams, and acute care. It will begin operation in January 2014.
“We have always wanted to make healthcare more accessible and convenient for children and their families,” stated Open Door’s Chief Executive Officer Toni Estep. “Open Door On the Go allows us to team up with local schools and provide a mobile health care resource the first of its kind in the greater Muncie community.
