Back 2 School Fun Fest is a Great Success

July 26, 2016– Muncie, IN – Open Door Health Services hosted their fifth annual Back 2 School Fun Fest on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 1-4pm at 333 S. Madison Street in Muncie and the turnout continues to be great.

Back 2 School Fun Fest is open to the public and offers school and sports physicals, immunizations, and dental exams for little to no cost. This year Open Door provided 110 physicals and immunizations to 49 children.

Kids of all ages enjoyed free games, refreshments, and a balloon art. There were 730 estimated in attendance and 42 volunteers. They also gave away 618 free backpacks filled with school supplies. The event was a success and a great encouragement for the beginning of the school year.

“This was my first Funfest, it was everything I was told it would be-and so much more,” said new Open Door CEO, Bryan Ayars. “The energy and dedication of Open Door employees and volunteers to assure we were able provide invaluable services such as immunizations, school physicals, and even dental exams while at the same time making sure our patients and families were having fun and learning; was remarkable. I know this is important to our patients and their families, and a great opportunity for some of our partners to share what they do as well. Thank you to everyone involved!”
